John Viesta is an Emmy Award-nominated lighting and scenic designer whose work spans broadcast television, theater, live entertainment, fashion, and large-scale special events.

His career began in the theater, where he worked on more than 30 Broadway productions, contributing to shows including The Producers, Young Frankenstein, Spamalot, 42nd Street, Beautiful: The Carole King Musical, Cinderella, Beauty and the Beast, Miss Saigon, and The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. His years on Broadway established a foundation in theatrical storytelling, collaboration, and the technical execution of complex productions that continues to influence his work today.

Viesta's work has since expanded extensively into broadcast television and live entertainment. His television credits include ESPN's SportsCenter, Bravo's Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, the Scripps National Spelling Bee, NBC's SMASH!, ABC's Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?, and numerous network specials and live productions.

His work with Bravo and NBCUniversal has included the design of Live From BravoCon with Andy Cohen, Bravo Fan Fest, and other large-scale live events that bring the visual language of broadcast television into immersive environments for live audiences. These projects combine lighting, scenery, architecture, video, and production technology to create spaces designed to work equally well for the camera and the audience in the room.

Beyond television and theater, Viesta has designed and collaborated on projects for some of the world's most recognizable fashion and lifestyle brands, including Ralph Lauren, Tommy Hilfiger, Tory Burch, Emilio Pucci, Lacoste, Marc Jacobs, and others.

It must support the people, technology, storytelling, and practical demands of the production around it. His approach combines creative design with a deep understanding of how projects are engineered, budgeted, installed, and ultimately experienced by both audiences and cameras.
